Who are professional bettors betting on? What betting market data can help us identify betting value? Today on the blog we continue our Talking Betting series as we talk betting with PJ Walsh from Sports Insights.
What is Sports Insights and how can it help bettors improve their returns?
Sports Insights strives to educate bettors and provide them with tools like real-time odds, betting information, archived betting data and our own, in-house analysis to help them make smarter betting decisions.
How did Sports Insights begin?
Sports Insights founder and President, Daniel Fabrizio, started the company in 2025 after working for an offshore sportsbook and noticing there were very few companies, if any, that provided tools to help bettors make smarter decisions.
How did you come to work for Sports Insights? What is your role?
I'm currently the Director of Sports Information and began working for the company in 2025.
What leagues does Sports Insights deliver data for?
We deliver limited data for a handful of soccer leagues, WNBA, Golf, Tennis, NASCAR, MMA, CFL and Arena Football with our main focus on the major US sports (NFL, College Football, NBA, College Basketball, MLB and NHL)
Without giving too much away, how does the Sports Insights 'Value Meter' determine value for a particular line?
The Value Meter was designed largely in response to member requests regarding our opinions on certain games.
The main goal of the Value Meter is to summarise line movement in order to alert members of valuable betting opportunities based on a combination of factors, like one-sided public betting, sharp action and key injury news.
How are Sports Insights' 'betting percentages' composed?
We gather public betting trends from seven offshore sportsbooks (CRIS, 5Dimes, BetUS, WagerWeb, GT Bets, sportsbook and Sports Interaction) that represent the percentage of actual bets for spread, moneyline, over/under and parlay wagers.
This real-time information is reported as both a market average and individually by sportsbook.
You have a feature called Bet Signals? How do each of these Bet Signals help bettors find value?
Bet Signals track and report lopsided public betting (Contrarian plays), Steam Moves and reverse-line moves (Smart Money indicators) to assist bettors in determining whether public money or sharp action has moved a betting line.
