West Bromwich Albion v Everton – Daily Dynamo Selections
In this ultra-competitive Premier League season Everton remain in the hunt for a top four finish. Champions League football would be an incredible achievement for Roberto Martinez in his first season as manager, but if they can pull off a win here against West Brom then they will once again ascend into the top four.
New West Brom head coach Pepe Mel will hope for a reaction from his players in his first game in charge. The Baggies recent Premier League form has been pretty terrible, with just one win in their last ten matches, and it is evident that they are missing the no longer on loan striker Romelu Lukaku, who will sadly for West Brom line-up against them in this fixture.
West Brom's goal difference of just minus five indicates that they haven't been thrashed too many times this season, and indeed four of their last five EPL defeats have been buy a single goal. Even Manchester City only got the better of a five goal thriller by the odd goal when they travelled to the Hawthorns. It could easily be asserted then that West Brom would not be suffering their current relegation worries if they simply had a striker of the quality of Lukaku.
The Belgian may very well be the difference between these two sides, but in accordance with their general form this season, I expect this to be a closely fought game. Perhaps Everton will just nick it though, as their form is an almost precise mirror image of West Brom's, having lost just one EPL game in ten, so my Daily Dynamo Selections favour a Toffees victory.
Selections: Safe Bet – Everton win (5/4 with Paddy Power), Value Bet – West Brom 1 – 2 Everton (10/1 with Ladbrokes)
