What is Going on with Mario?
No-one quite seems to know what is going on with Mario Balotelli, with the Manchester City’s purported move back to Italy seemingly being off and on and then off again every few hours.
Roberto Mancini has stated that Balotelli will go nowhere in this transfer window. Since then, though, it would appear that City have entered into talks to sell the mercurial Italian striker they purchased from Inter Milan just a couple of years ago.
Where Balotelli will be going, though, or indeed if, remains open to debate. Some sources suggest that Juventus and Milan are in a tug of war to sign the player. Others have suggested that the supposed Milan fan is Milan-bound, as Juventus have apparently cooled their interest in the forward. Other sources suggest that Juventus are in talks to sign Balotelli right now.
Meanwhile, City continue to deny that they have any intention of selling the player, with Roberton Mancini insisting that the title chasing club need to keep their full complement of four strikers at the club.
It seems likely that behind the scenes City are working on securing a replacement for Balotelli, should they decide to sell the Italian. Possible targets could include Barcelona forward David Villa, Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, and Atletico Madrid hitman Falcao.
